I have had a request for information regarding the following Yorkshire Drewerys:
James Drewery married Elizabeth Young.
Their daughter Hannah Mary Drewery was born in 1854, in York, Yorkshire England.
Hannah Mary Drewery married David Browne Durham in Gympie, Queensland, Australia in 1873
and together they had 11 children.

The Abigail of London sailed from Plymouth, England on June 4, 1635 arriving in Boston October, 1635.
She carried about 220 passengers including:
156 -George Drewry, aged 19, from East Grinstead, Sussex - also known as Drewrie - BUT
correspondence in that page states:
"I am a descendant of George Drewrie, who was in fact Hugh Drury of Sudbury, MA and later Boston. I am interested in John Freeman (not related to Edmond) as he traveled with George and is found in Sudbury records with Hugh. Court records show that Hugh's birth date and George's overlap. It was the genealogist C.E. Banks (a Hugh Drury descendant) that stated George Drewrie is from East Grinstead, but now that birth records are available for the parish, it is clear he is not. The city (or town) of Drewry is located in Monroe County, Alabama.
Drewry Lake is in the South Cariboo area of British Columbia

Drewry's Bluff is in Virginia.
Interestingly the Fort at Drewry's Bluff, on the James River protecting Richmond, was known as Fort Darling. Is this coincidence or a reference back to the original meaning of the word drewry/druery.
