Alexander Drury

"Col. Alexander Drury was born abt. 1830 and married first Fanny Elizabeth Evans, b. May 6, 1835 in Eton, Bucks, d. June 8, 1862 in Madras, India. He later married Mary Ann Abel (1834 - 1882) in 1868 in India."

"Col. Alexander Drury was the son of Dr. Arthur Jackson Drury (c. 1798 - January 14, 1837) and the grandson of Mark Drury (Abt. April 27, 1759 - July 22, 1835).
Mark and his son, William, left Harrow for Brussels leaving many debts and were made bankrupt in 1829. Mark was the brother of Joseph Drury, Rev., D.D., the famous headmaster of Harrow School who taught Lord Byron.
He descended from John Drury, of Holt House, Leziate (1626 - c. 1689) who was a Warder in the Tower of London. "
