There is a certificate for Harry Charles Hyde, dated 8th November 1883, from North of England School Furnishing Co Ltd, Newcastle, Darlington. (Image on the right)

He was examined and passed First Standard.
he was only 8 or 9 at the time.
The stamp on the back of the certificate suggests that it was awarded by St John's National Schools in Kingston.

He died a couple of years later aged 11
